Constructive Journalism Training in Dodoma, Tanzania

PACJI organized a professional training workshop in Dodoma, Tanzania, that brought together more than 30 media experts, including journalists, editors, media managers, and communication professionals from public and private media organizations.

The training focused on the role of constructive journalism in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Participants examined how journalists can report development challenges accurately while also identifying credible responses, successful interventions, practical lessons, and opportunities for positive transformation.

The workshop was facilitated by media scholars from China and experienced media experts from Tanzania. The Chinese scholars shared knowledge and experiences concerning media development and effectiveness in China, while Tanzanian facilitators provided perspectives based on African media systems and development priorities.

The workshop promoted professional learning, international knowledge exchange, ethical reporting, and greater understanding of the media’s contribution to sustainable development.
